A Viticulture Field Day will be held 9 a.m. to 7 p.m., Wednesday, July 30 at the Michigan State University Southwest Michigan Research and Center, 1791 Hillandale Road, Benton Harbor, MI 49022.  The session is co-sponsored by the Michigan Grape Society and Michigan State University Extension.

Now in its landmark 25th year, the Viticulture Field Day provides many opportunities for established and new grape growers to learn about current practices and research in wine and juice grapes through field-based workshops, equipment demonstrations and the trade show.

Among the workshops for 25th anniversary event are futuristic demonstrations. Forward-looking pieces of equipment featured include a high-capacity sprayer, a GPS-guided grapevine planter, and a drone to map vineyards. Michigan Grape Society industry leaders, growers, Michigan State University faculty and staff combine to present the educational sessions.

The registration fee is $45/person. Lunch and a steak dinner will be served at the event.
